About The Position

The Risk Administrator -- Operations works closely with the Insurance Claims Supervisor, Risk Manager, Director of Safety, and Safety Managers to support all areas of Risk Management and Safety. This role is a hybrid position and partners departments and branch locations to mitigate risk, ensure compliance, and uphold company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3 years of risk management and claims experience, preferably within construction or restoration industries
  • Strong knowledge of workers' compensation, auto, general liability, and subrogation claims
  • Excellent communication, organizational, and follow-through skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on execution
  • High attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and Outlook

Responsibilities

  • Manage workers' compensation claims, including filing, tracking, investigation, and lifecycle management through resolution
  • Investigate incidents that may result in asset loss, claims, or litigation
  • Serve as liaison between the Insurance Claims Supervisor, Risk Management, insurance adjusters, legal counsel, and external partners
  • Maintain accurate and comprehensive electronic records for general liability claims, workers' compensation claims, subrogation matters, and potential litigation
  • Coordinate with Human Resources to obtain required employee documentation for claims and legal matters
  • Analyze contractual obligations and compliance requirements as needed
  • Monitor claim activity calendars, including follow-ups, litigation milestones, and reporting deadlines
  • Support litigation management by coordinating with attorneys and providing required documentation
  • Investigate motor vehicle incidents, including gathering statements, police reports, photos, and supporting documentation
  • Manage auto claims from initial report through final resolution, ensuring timely handling and compliance
  • Maintain detailed and accurate claim files within claims management systems
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local regulations related to motor vehicle claims
  • Track, analyze, and report claim trends, loss data, and performance metrics
  • Collaborate with Safety and Fleet teams to identify root causes and implement loss prevention strategies
  • Review vendor estimates (repair facilities, appraisers, medical providers) for accuracy and cost control
  • Identify subrogation opportunities across workers' compensation, auto, and general liability claims
  • Investigate third-party liability and gather supporting evidence to support recovery efforts
  • Coordinate with insurance carriers, adjusters, legal counsel, and third parties to pursue reimbursement
  • Manage subrogation claims through the full lifecycle, including demand preparation, negotiation, and resolution
  • Track and document recovery efforts, settlements, and reimbursements
  • Ensure proper allocation and recording of recovered funds
  • Monitor timelines and statutes of limitations to preserve recovery rights
  • Ensure all employee injuries are properly reported, documented, and maintained
  • Audit injury files for completeness, including OSHA documentation, investigation reports, medical records, modified duty updates, and claim costs
  • Provide claims support and follow-up as needed
  • Support Risk and Safety leadership in all areas of risk management and safety operations
  • Assist in auditing and monitoring Risk Administrators' work, including training enrollment and recordkeeping
  • Respond to safety-related inquiries and provide guidance on procedures and processes
  • Participate in industry webinars, training sessions, and professional development opportunities
  • Attend industry conferences as required
  • Cross-train team members within Risk and Safety departments
  • Ensure Risk Department invoices are submitted to Accounts Payable and properly documented
  • Maintain organized records of receipts and financial documentation
  • Coordinate and schedule Risk Department meetings, trainings, and events
  • Track action items and ensure follow-up on key initiatives
