About The Position

Assist with rigging operations of crane erections, climbs and dismantles as directed by the Field E&D Superintendent and other work as may be assigned in the field or facility. The fundamental duties of this job include assisting with the erection, climbs, and dismantles of cranes and personnel/material hoists. This role also involves assisting the Field E&D Superintendent and District Service Manager with maintenance of cranes and hoists when not assigned to a jobsite, and providing assistance with the proper loading of equipment on trucks for transporting. The technician must understand rigging procedures regarding slings, shackles, chokers, etc., and have applicable knowledge of OSHA safety regulations as they apply to crane and hoist erection, dismantle, climbing, and repair. Compliance with Company and Regulatory safety requirements and specifications on jobsites, the district yard, and shop is essential. The technician must notify the Field E&D Superintendent of unsafe conditions or practices, or the District Service Manager if the Field E&D Superintendent is unavailable. Responsibilities include receiving and inspecting all incoming equipment for damage and/or missing components, and submitting required service reports, expense reports, time sheets, and other documents within designated timeframes. The role requires working overtime when necessary and effectively communicating with co-workers, customers, and vendors in a professional business environment, demonstrating a commitment to outstanding customer service. Working collaboratively with all personnel to ensure tasks are completed timely, maintaining confidential information, and demonstrating a "can-do" attitude are also key aspects of the position. Successful problem-solving skills, detail-orientation, ability to plan and prioritize work, and adaptability to changes in the work environment are expected. Ensuring lifting equipment is in safe operating condition prior to use and following all Company safety rules, policies, and procedures, including proper usage of Company-supplied PPE, are mandatory. The technician will represent the Company in a professional manner, including proper maintenance of Company vehicles, tools, and equipment.

Requirements

  • Ability to operate all yard and shop equipment.
  • Ability and willingness to work in adverse weather conditions.
  • Requirement to attend training courses and seminars as requested by the Company.
  • Requirement to maintain a valid State driver’s license.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Applicable knowledge of OSHA safety regulations as they apply to crane and hoist erection, dismantle, climbing, and repair.

Responsibilities

  • Represent the Company in a professional manner, which includes wearing of Company supplied Morrow Branded shirts or uniforms, and proper maintenance of Company vehicles, tools, and equipment.
