About The Position

The Ride Operator engages with guests to provide a positive service experience while safely operating mechanical and non-mechanical rides and attractions. The position includes loading and unloading guests, enforcing rider safety requirements, monitoring guests and co-workers throughout ride cycles, and communicating instructions or concerns. Operators also greet guests, scan wristbands, maintain ride-area cleanliness, and may perform custodial duties for Nickelodeon Universe or rides.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Excellent verbal and non-verbal communication skills.
Ability to communicate and understand using hand signals.
Detail-oriented, safety-minded, and observant.
Ability to maintain focus and multitask.
Ability to safely operate heavy machinery.
Ability to work in elevated locations.

Nice To Haves

Previous guest experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a variety of mechanical and non-mechanical rides and attractions, independently or as part of a group.
Assist with safely loading and unloading guests.
Enforce height requirements, rider safety requirements, and chaperone policies.
Ensure guests are properly restrained before starting each ride cycle.
Monitor the safety of guests and co-workers inside and outside the ride throughout the ride cycle.
Use a microphone to communicate instructions or concerns to guests.
Interact positively with guests verbally and non-verbally.
Observe safety conditions and guest concerns visually and auditorily while operating the ride or attraction.
Scan guests’ wristbands before they ride.
Greet guests at the ride entrance when the ride is closed or slow during downtime.
Maintain ride-area cleanliness by sweeping floors, wiping down the ride, and emptying trash containers.
Inspect equipment using visual and tactile methods as trained.
May perform custodial cleaning for Nickelodeon Universe or rides.
