About The Position

This is a full-time, on-site position offering the opportunity to provide expert care to patients living with complex musculoskeletal and autoimmune conditions. As a Rheumatology MD or DO, you will diagnose, treat, and manage a wide range of rheumatic diseases, including arthritis, lupus, gout, and other autoimmune and inflammatory conditions. You will work within a collaborative Medical Practice environment, partnering with referring physicians, allied health professionals, and support staff to deliver coordinated, patient-centered care.

Requirements

MD or DO degree from an accredited medical school
Completion of an accredited rheumatology fellowship program
Board eligible or board certified in Rheumatology
Valid medical license to practice in North Carolina
Associate-level clinical experience in rheumatology
Strong diagnostic and clinical decision-making skills
Proficiency in interpreting rheumatology-related laboratory and imaging studies
Experience with electronic medical record systems
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Commitment to compassionate, patient-centered care

Experience with joint injection and aspiration procedures

Responsibilities

Diagnose and treat patients with rheumatic and autoimmune diseases
Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations, histories, and physical examinations
Order and interpret diagnostic tests, imaging, and laboratory results
Develop and manage individualized treatment plans for chronic conditions
Prescribe and monitor medications, including biologics and immunosuppressants
Perform joint injections and aspiration procedures as clinically indicated
Collaborate with primary care physicians and specialists on coordinated care
Educate patients and families about disease management and lifestyle modifications
Maintain accurate and timely electronic medical records
Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical protocols
Stay current with advances in rheumatology research and treatment guidelines
Supervise and mentor clinical staff and residents as applicable
