As a Locum Radiology physician, you will play a critical role in interpreting and reporting on radiological studies, supporting referring physicians, and ensuring accurate diagnoses that guide patient care. Compensation for this engagement is structured on a yearly basis, reflecting the contract nature of the role.

Requirements

Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
Associate-level experience in Radiology, as specified.
Active state medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
Completion of an accredited residency program in Radiology.
Strong skills in interpreting X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities.
Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
Effective communication skills for consulting with patients and medical staff.
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site medical practice environment.
Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and radiology information systems.
Flexibility to accommodate the scheduling needs of a locum tenens assignment.
Level I Trauma
Must be board-certified

Responsibilities

Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities.
Provide accurate and timely radiology reports to referring physicians.
Consult with other medical professionals to determine the best imaging approach for patient care.
Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols in radiology procedures.
Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases.
Stay current with advancements in radiology and medical imaging technology.
Collaborate with technical staff to optimize image quality and workflow.
Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by medical boards.
Support the department’s goals in delivering high-quality, efficient diagnostic services.
Manage workload effectively to minimize turnaround times for imaging results.
