As a Locum Radiology physician, you will play a critical role in interpreting and reporting on radiological studies, supporting referring physicians, and ensuring accurate diagnoses that guide patient care. Compensation for this engagement is structured on a yearly basis, reflecting the contract nature of the role.

Requirements

  • Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO) degree from an accredited institution.
  • Associate-level experience in Radiology, as specified.
  • Active state medical license or eligibility to obtain licensure.
  • Completion of an accredited residency program in Radiology.
  • Strong skills in interpreting X-ray, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other imaging modalities.
  • Excellent clinical judgment and decision-making abilities.
  • Effective communication skills for consulting with patients and medical staff.
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, on-site medical practice environment.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and ethical standards.
  • Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and radiology information systems.
  • Flexibility to accommodate the scheduling needs of a locum tenens assignment.
  • Level I Trauma
  • Must be board-certified

Responsibilities

  • Perform and interpret diagnostic imaging studies, including X-rays, CT, MRI, ultrasound, and other modalities.
  • Provide accurate and timely radiology reports to referring physicians.
  • Consult with other medical professionals to determine the best imaging approach for patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards and protocols in radiology procedures.
  • Maintain detailed and accurate patient records.
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss complex cases.
  • Stay current with advancements in radiology and medical imaging technology.
  • Collaborate with technical staff to optimize image quality and workflow.
  • Adhere to ethical and professional standards as outlined by medical boards.
  • Support the department’s goals in delivering high-quality, efficient diagnostic services.
  • Manage workload effectively to minimize turnaround times for imaging results.
