About The Position

Peraton is seeking a Spacecraft Communications RF Equipment Technician to join their team at the Fort Irwin Complex in California to support the Space Communications Network Services Contract (DSN) with NASA. The Deep Space Network (DSN) is NASA’s international array of giant radio antennas that supports interplanetary spacecraft missions, as well as Earth-orbiting spacecraft. The DSN also provides radar and radio astronomy observations that improve our understanding of the solar system and the larger universe. The antennas of the Deep Space Network are the indispensable link to explorers venturing beyond the moon. They provide the crucial connection for commanding spacecraft and receiving scientific information and images from them on Earth, propelling our understanding of the universe, our solar system, and ultimately, our place within it. The technician will be responsible for testing, maintaining, and modifying RF and microwave subsystems that support the Deep Space Network (DSN). This includes working on equipment such as transmitters, receivers, and cryogenic microwave devices to ensure the continuous success of NASA’s space exploration efforts.
