About The Position

The Rewinder Operator rewinds fabric rolls to remove flaws or divide material into smaller rolls to meet customer quality and quantity requirements. The role involves operating the rewinding machine, preparing and identifying finished rolls, performing quality checks, and maintaining a clean work area. The position is scheduled Monday through Friday from 2:00 p.m. to 10:30 p.m.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work as a team player.
• Ability to perform the described physical demands, including standing, walking, handling objects or controls, reaching, stooping, kneeling, and crouching.
• Close vision and good color vision.
• Ability to work near moving mechanical parts.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience as a machine operator.
• Knowledge of manufacturing and production procedures.

Responsibilities

• Thread and operate the rewinding machine to rewind large rolls of material to customer-specified lengths.
• Wrap and identify finished fabric rolls, and bundle or palletize them when required.
• Tag rolls for identification.
• Rewind rolls placed on hold, run the material to the flawed area, and remove flaws by splicing when required.
• Conduct quality checks on material as required.
• Clean and sweep the area around the machine, including the main aisle.
• Bundle and bale scrap material.
• Wear safety shoes and hearing protection at all times.
