About The Position

MCC is seeking a Turret Rewinder/Machine Operator to inspect printed label rolls for print and seam quality, remove defective material, and splice the web back together according to specifications. The role handles and palletizes rolls to prevent damage and records production information on paperwork and in the company’s Globetek operating system. Experience is not required, though it is considered a plus.

The regular schedule is Sunday through Thursday, 9:45 p.m. to 6:00 a.m. Initial training takes place on first shift, Monday through Friday, 5:45 a.m. to 2:00 p.m., for approximately eight days; training may last longer depending on the new teammate’s abilities. The position has a base hourly rate determined by applicable prior work experience, plus a $1.50-per-hour shift differential once the employee begins working third shift.

Requirements

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide to calculate label counts and conversions.
• Ability to perform calculations using American units of money and measurements of weight, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Ability to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Ability to meet the stated physical and vision demands of the position.

Responsibilities

• Continuously inspect print and seam quality.
• Remove defective material and splice the roll web back together according to specifications.
• Use a ruler, safety knife, and hole punch during splicing, and use tools at other times as needed.
• Handle and palletize rolls without damaging them.
• Understand basic printing- and seam-related defects.
• Record and enter data on designated paperwork and in the company operating system, Globetek.
• Participate in special projects and perform other duties as assigned.
