About The Position

As a US Compensation & Benefits Partner, you will be a subject matter expert within the global Reward team, responsible for the design, implementation, governance and continuous improvement of compensation and benefits programmes across the Hiscox US Business. You will partner closely with People Leaders, Business Leaders, Finance, Legal, Talent Acquisition and External Advisers to ensure Hiscox maintains competitive, compliant and commercially effective reward programmes that support business objectives and enhance the employee experience. Your key role will be to act as the US Reward specialist within the Group Reward function, ensuring alignment with global reward strategy, policies and governance whilst partnering closely with US stakeholders to deliver market-relevant compensation and benefits solutions. Operating with significant autonomy, you will provide expert advice on compensation strategy, market positioning, benefit design, regulatory compliance and reward governance. You will leverage data, market insight and stakeholder feedback to make recommendations that drive employee engagement, support talent outcomes and ensure regulatory compliance. This role requires strong organizational and analytical skills, a customer-focused mindset, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams.

Requirements

Significant experience in US compensation and benefits, ideally within a complex, multi-state or multinational organisation.
Strong knowledge of market benchmarking, compensation design, salary structures and incentive programmes.
Deep understanding of US benefits legislation and regulatory requirements.
Strong analytical capability with experience using reward and market data to support decision making.
Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills.
Strong commercial acumen and ability to balance employee and business needs.
Effective written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities and deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Commercially minded, committed and driven with a strong work ethic, willing to take personal responsibility and accountability, dedicated to service excellence, able to execute efficiently and to a high standard.

Responsibilities

Act as the primary Compensation & Benefits partner to the US business, providing expert advice and guidance on reward matters including hiring, promotions, organisational design, talent retention and employee pay decisions.
Lead the delivery of annual reward activities for the US business, including salary reviews, incentive planning and benefits enrolment, ensuring programmes are competitive, cost-effective and aligned to business strategy.
Own and continuously enhance US compensation and benefits programmes, using market intelligence, employee feedback and business insight to ensure Hiscox remains competitive in attracting and retaining talent.
Serve as the subject matter expert for US reward, influencing business leaders and People partners on reward strategy, market competitiveness and employee value proposition considerations.
Utilise market benchmarking, analytics and reward data to support evidence-based decision making, identify trends and drive continuous improvement across compensation and benefits programmes.
Lead compensation and benefits projects from design through implementation, including programme enhancements, policy reviews, vendor management activities and process improvements.
Ensure all compensation and benefits programmes are delivered in accordance with governance requirements, internal policies and relevant regulatory obligations.
Build strong partnerships with business leaders, People teams, Finance, Legal and external providers to deliver effective and commercially sound reward solutions.
Champion Hiscox's global reward philosophy by balancing local US market needs with global consistency, ensuring Group Reward frameworks, policies and governance standards are appropriately applied.
Contribute US market expertise and specialist insight to the development of the broader Group Reward strategy, whilst supporting operational excellence, governance and best practice across the global Reward function.
Maintain global job architecture, job levelling, and salary structures that support career progression and internal equity for US Business.
Own the end-to-end delivery of US benefits programmes, including healthcare, dental, vision, disability, flexible spending, commuter and related benefit arrangements, ensuring programmes remain effective, competitive and aligned to employee and business needs.
Lead the design, governance, administration and continuous improvement of employee wellbeing programmes, including wellness strategy, budget and vendor management, regulatory compliance, employee communications, incentive administration, utilisation tracking, reporting, and partnership oversight to drive engagement, wellbeing outcomes and effective fund management.
Evaluate and enhance compensation and benefits offerings to improve employee value and organisational effectiveness, while supporting wellbeing initiatives and employee engagement activities that strengthen the overall employee value proposition.
Act as the subject matter expert and escalation point for complex US compensation and benefits queries, providing guidance to employees, managers and HR stakeholders.
Ensure compliance with all relevant US compensation and benefits regulations and governance requirements, partnering with external advisers on ACA, ERISA, FMLA, COBRA, HIPAA and other applicable regulations, and ensuring plan documentation, regulatory filings and governance processes are completed accurately and on time.
Provide support on global compensation and benefits initiatives, including executive remuneration, share plan governance and administration, and the management of global benefits programmes and external benefits providers.
