We’re looking for a Revenue Tax Auditor Supervisor to join our Field Audit Income Tax Division to supervise and coordinate tax audits for various tax types!

Requirements

  • Seven years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR Six years of full-time experience in any field plus twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR A bachelor’s degree with twenty-four semester hours in accounting plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR A bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, or statistics plus four years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR An advanced degree in accounting, finance, business administration, management, economics, quantitative methods, or statistics, or a Juris Doctorate, plus three years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing; OR Possession of a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license or a current Louisiana license to practice law plus two years of experience in tax accounting or tax auditing.
  • Every 30 semester hours earned from an accredited college or university will be credited as one year of experience towards the six years of full-time work experience in any field. The maximum substitution allowed is 120 semester hours which substitutes for a maximum of four years of experience in any field.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the assistant to the Revenue Tax Auditor Manager, Revenue Tax Assistant Director or Revenue Tax Director over a team of auditors in a defined geographical area.
  • Be responsible for the supervision of a staff of Revenue Tax Auditors located within the state of Louisiana as well as other locations throughout the United States.
  • Accompany Revenue Tax Auditors on pre-audit and post-audit interviews with taxpayers and their accountants, chemists, information technology personnel and legal counsel to discuss audit procedures, explain the results of audits and the treatment of various tax issues.
  • Assign case inventory and provide assistance in determining the appropriate course of action for audits.
  • Plan the workload, workflow, deadlines, work objectives and time management priorities.
  • Monitor Revenue Tax Auditor performance standards and measures and conduct performance evaluations.
