The mission of the Louisiana Sales and Use Tax Commission for Remote Sellers is to administer and collect state and local sales and use taxes for remote transactions with fairness, accuracy, and integrity. Established under Act 274 of the 2017 Regular Legislative Session, we are committed to promoting uniformity and simplicity in taxpayer compliance while upholding the highest standards of professionalism and ethical conduct. We serve Louisiana’s taxpayers and local jurisdictions by providing clear guidance, consistent processes, and strong leadership in all aspects of remote seller tax administration. The Tax Auditor 2 conducts detailed audits of individual and business tax filings, evaluates financial records for accuracy and compliance, identifies discrepancies, and ensures proper application of state tax laws. The role supports enforcement activities, taxpayer education, and contributes to ensuring accurate tax compliance for remote sellers.
