About The Position

Responsible for coordinating detection activities associated with unbilled revenue, including theft of service, while protecting the image of the New AEP. The role analyzes market data to locate potential energy theft, conducts field audits, supports training, prepares back billing and payment plans, reports productivity, assists with fraud investigations, and communicates with customers, agencies, and internal departments. The position may represent AEP in court as needed.

Requirements

Associate degree or equivalent four years of experience performing field-related work activities.
At least three years of experience performing as a Revenue Protection Coordinator.
Knowledge of theft-of-service laws.
Working knowledge of the current customer system and PC skills.
Knowledge of accounting/billing experience.
Excellent safety record.
Valid driver's license.

Nice To Haves

Knowledge of the Fair Debt Act is desirable.

Responsibilities

Analyze market data to identify geographical locations for potential customer bases involved in energy theft.
Perform daily field audits to investigate and document theft.
Assist in training new Revenue Protection Coordinators and coordinate training for internal departments on identifying theft of service and associated policies and procedures.
Prepare back billing and establish payment plans with customers.
Develop reports and communicate results to a supervisor to quantify productivity.
Assist in fraud investigations and represent AEP in court as needed.
Communicate and develop rapport with internal and external customers and agencies.
