About The Position

The Revenue Cycle Specialist II is responsible for benefits verification, explanation of benefits, collections, denial resolution, and posting accounts to minimize aged receivables. The role also administers coverage plan setups, write-offs, and the 270/271 process, and provides technical assistance to staff. This is a lead position for commercial, Medicare, and Medicaid billing. The position follows a hybrid schedule with two days working remotely and three days onsite each week in Grand Junction, Colorado.

Requirements

• Associate’s degree in accounting or a business-related field preferred, or a high school diploma with four years of experience required; healthcare accounts receivable experience is preferred.
• Basic understanding of accounting principles.
• Basic knowledge of CPT, HCPCS, ICD-10, and DSM, as well as charge and payment posting systems.
• Working knowledge of Windows-based applications, including Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Outlook, and internet access.
• Ability to operate standard office equipment, including a computer keyboard, calculator, copy machine, fax machine, and multi-line telephone.
• Interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external customers.
• Ability to organize and prioritize workload in a sometimes hectic environment with frequent interruptions.
• Must already be authorized to work in the United States; sponsorship is unavailable.

Responsibilities
