Revenue Cycle Analyst
About The Position
Brentwood Hospital is looking for a dynamic Revenue Cycle Analyst to join their team. This role is responsible for patient accounts from discharge to final disposition. The analyst will complete collection calls to third-party carriers and guarantors, document accounts, and assign appropriate message codes. The position involves reviewing credit balances, preparing refund requests, assisting with billing and collection work lists for absent staff, following up on billed accounts, posting cash for self-pay calls, and verifying benefits. Brentwood Hospital is a 260-bed psychiatric and chemical dependency treatment facility in Shreveport, Louisiana, serving the region for over 45 years.
Requirements
- High School Diploma/Equivalent
- previous collection of third party and self-pay accounts preferred
- Three years of experience preferred
Responsibilities
- Collection calls to both the third party carrier and the guarantor for each account on the daily work list
- Reviews credit balances and prepares and accurate and documented refund request for review by the Business Office Director
- Assists with billing and collection work lists for other staff when they are absent; performs other duties as assigned
- Follows up on billed accounts in 30 days to ensure bills were received and accurate
- Post cash for self-pay calls
- Verifies benefits
