About The Position

Join AMD’s global quality returns team to support a rapidly growing new business. This role designs and implements repair processes and procedures and manages governance and oversight of third-party returns centers. Working with AMD stakeholders, the manager drives suppliers to meet AMD quality and output requirements. The position calls for an experienced operations manager with strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills who can manage relationships and commitments in a complex, dynamic organization.

Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong cross-functional collaboration skills and ability to manage effective relationships in a cross-functional organization.
Understanding of reverse supply chain processes, including inventory management, quality, materials management, manufacturing operations, and planning.
Self-directed, with the ability to work in complex and dynamic ecosystems.
Ability to manage time and resources efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Arts degree, or equivalent.
Fluent spoken and written English.

Nice To Haves

Project management experience in repair or manufacturing processes at a datacenter component manufacturer.
Quality management experience, such as Lean Six Sigma certification or familiarity with ISO 9001.
Operations or manufacturing experience.
Experience managing and/or onboarding third-party partners.
Knowledge of systems and processes such as SAP, Salesforce, and RMA.
Experience working with teams across multiple geographic locations.
Comfort with ambiguity and ability to adapt and be creative.
Detail-oriented, self-driven, with a strong sense of pride and ownership.
Strong organizational, interpersonal, presentation, written, and verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated ability to build relationships and work effectively as a self-starter and as part of a team.
PMP, CPIM, CSCP, or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee activities performed for AMD by contract manufacturing (CM) service providers to ensure output and quality meet AMD requirements.
Design and implement repair processes and procedures that adhere to internal policies and meet stakeholder requirements.
Provide oversight and governance of returns center processes and reporting.
Manage returns processes across a cross-functional, matrix organization.
Provide clear and timely communications to multiple stakeholders.
Apply project management principles effectively to projects of varying sizes.
Use a data-centric approach to prioritize focus areas and drive continuous improvement.
Coordinate priorities and deadlines with Program Managers.
Initiate changes to existing processes and methods to improve project and team efficiency.
Involve team members proactively in planning, decision-making, and execution.
Ensure CM suppliers develop and execute manufacturing control plans that comply with product specifications.
Implement quality metrics to drive end-to-end continuous improvement.
Identify systematic improvement opportunities and work with suppliers to establish yearly, long-term projects to reduce quality defects.
Drive SPC compliance and improvement to reduce out-of-control conditions.
Conduct yearly audits and line walks when required.
