About The Position
The Boeing Company is seeking a mid-level Retrofit Project Manager (Logistics Integration) to support Boeing Global Services and join the C-17 Retrofit, Maintenance, and Modifications team in San Antonio, Texas. The role manages project development, planning, implementation, and technical support for maintenance, modifications, and repairs, in accordance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements. The Project Manager coordinates retrofit, maintenance, and modification work through concept development, contracting, project planning, and scheduling. The role defines procedures, special engineering and tooling, kit and material requirements, and work packages for inspections, modifications, improvements, and repairs. It also prepares draft document delivery schedules in coordination with modification schedules, serves as the primary project contact for establishing partner requirements and objectives, and directs project phases from inception through completion. As a Control Account Manager, the role uses Earned Value Management to manage scope, schedule, cost, and performance against a baseline plan, coordinating commitments with internal and external collaborators.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of military aircraft experience.
- At least 3 years of project management experience.
- At least 3 years leading or managing projects involving cross-functional or cross-business-unit teams.
- At least 3 years managing projects and using standard project management tools.
- Experience working in a fast-paced team environment requiring strong communication and frequent interaction with program leadership and internal and external customer representatives.
- Ability to travel 10% of the time.
- Clear written and verbal communication, problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
- Must satisfy the Company's Conflict of Interest assessment process.
- Must meet U.S. export control compliance requirements as a U.S. Person.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with C-17 operations.
- Experience supporting projects or programs using Earned Value Management.
- Control Account Manager experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft applications.
- Familiarity with Time Compliance Technical Orders (TCTO).
- Experience working with a diverse group of people, listening, seeking feedback, and responding appropriately, urgently, and respectfully.
- Knowledge of or experience working with Supply Chain/Supplier Management.
Responsibilities
- Coordinate retrofit, maintenance, and modification activities during concept development, contracting, project planning, and retrofit scheduling.
- Define procedures, special engineering, special tooling, kit requirements, work packages, and material requirements for inspections, modifications, improvement changes, and repairs of delivered products.
- Develop, plan, implement, manage, and provide technical support for maintenance, modifications, and repairs in accordance with customer, regulatory, and company requirements.
- Create draft document delivery schedules in coordination with the overall modification schedule.
- Serve as Control Account Manager for projects, using Earned Value Management to manage work scope, schedule, cost, and performance against a baseline plan.
- Act as the primary project contact to establish key partner requirements and project objectives.
- Direct project or major-project subsystem phases from inception through completion.
- Coordinate commitments with internal and external collaborators to fulfill strategies.
- Interact with U.S. Government customers and communicate and collaborate with program leadership, customers, and other representatives.
- Travel up to 10% of the time.
