About The Position

The Retail Team Member provides friendly customer service, helps customers shop and locate products, and delivers a fast, friendly checkout experience. The role includes cash handling, promoting rewards and private-label credit card programs, informing customers about the Voice of Customer survey, and assisting with Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS) processes.

Team Members participate in truck unloading, stocking, planogram processes, merchandise recovery, store maintenance, Store In Stock Optimization (SISO), and ad-set duties. They support shrink and safety programs and follow company procedures, policies, and applicable legal requirements. The role also involves cross-training in Custom Framing sales and production, and other duties as assigned. Michaels requires team members in this role to be at least 16 years old.

Requirements

• Must be at least 16 years old.
• Must satisfy applicable federal, state, and local legal requirements of the job.
• Ability to remain standing for long periods.
• Ability to move throughout the store.
• Ability to bend, lift, carry, reach, and stretch regularly.
• Ability to lift heavy boxes and access high shelves using a ladder or similar equipment.

Responsibilities

• Help customers shop, locate products, and find solutions.
• Provide a fast and friendly checkout experience and handle cash according to standards.
• Explain the benefits of the Rewards program and Private Label Credit Cards and complete enrollments.
• Educate customers about the Voice of Customer survey.
• Assist with omnichannel processes, including Buy Online Pickup in Store (BOPIS) and Ship From Store (SFS).
• Participate in truck unloading, stocking, and planogram processes.
• Complete merchandise recovery and maintenance, including returns and general store recovery, to support a well-merchandised and in-stock store.
• Perform Store In Stock Optimization (SISO) and ad-set duties as assigned.
• Support shrink and safety programs.
• Follow Standard Operating Procedures and company programs, policies, and standards to ensure compliance with applicable laws and requirements.
• Interact with others in an accepting and respectful manner, maintain a positive approach in difficult situations, support the organization’s vision and values, and serve as a positive role model.
• Cross-train in Custom Framing sales and production.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
