About The Position
As the face of Palmetto Goodwill’s retail locations, Retail Team Member II employees provide Amazing Customer Experiences while receiving and processing donations or maintaining efficient merchandising and sale of donated items. Team members support Palmetto Goodwill’s I-CARE values, participate in training and development, and help foster a diverse, inclusive, and welcoming workplace. The role may involve donor services, hardline or softline production, and cashier duties. Employees receive donations, sort and price merchandise, stock items for sale, process transactions, record donations and production, meet established production goals, and maintain a clean and safe work environment. Work is usually performed indoors in a retail setting, with occasional exposure to outdoor weather, dust, and odors.
Requirements
- Understand English and comprehend verbal and written instructions.
- Read and comprehend Retail Production and Training manuals and follow process instructions effectively and efficiently.
- Multitask effectively and adapt to frequent changes, delays, unexpected events, and changing work requirements.
- Be a self-starter who can work efficiently with minimal supervision after receiving instructions.
- Thrive in a dynamic, fast-moving environment.
- Work effectively in a team-based environment and interact professionally with customers and a diverse employee base.
- Work a flexible schedule, including weekends, and have reliable transportation to and from work.
- Have basic computer skills, including experience with retail-related systems and basic programs such as Microsoft Word.
- Have excellent customer service skills.
- Demonstrate multicultural sensitivity and awareness of diversity in people and cultures.

Responsibilities
- Deliver an Amazing Customer Experience to internal and external customers.

- Receive donations from donors using the GRATIS process: Greet, Receipt, Assist, Thank, Invite back, Sort.
- Sort, price, and stock hardline donations according to established expectations.
- Sort, tag, and stock softline donations according to established expectations.
- Use the point-of-sale system accurately to complete merchandise sales and ask customers to round up their change.
- Accurately record donations, merchandise production, and specified tasks.
- Meet established production goals for the role and retail location.
- Maintain a clean work environment and uphold store safety standards.
- Demonstrate proficiency in cashier, softline production, or donor services/hardline production roles through evaluation.
- Report known or suspected security or theft issues to store management, the appropriate District Manager, and/or Asset Protection.
- Comply with agency policies, procedures, and safety standards, including applicable CARF, Department of Labor, and other regulatory standards.
- Perform other job-related duties as assigned by store management.
