About The Position

The Store Lead Merchandiser at Ocean State Job Lot creates visually appealing store environments in established, new, and remodeled stores within an assigned market. The role works closely with store leadership, territory Senior Merchandisers, and the corporate Merchandising Department to align merchandising with company initiatives, brand standards, and operational best practices. The position also contributes to store operations, supports associate training, and may travel to other stores in the assigned region as business needs require.

Requirements

Prior merchandising planning and presentation experience in a retail environment.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Google platforms, including Sites, Slides, Drive, Docs, and Sheets.
Availability to work as required by the business, including nights and weekends.
Ability to travel to other locations based on business needs.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Ability to lift 35 pounds regularly and perform physical tasks including moving, reaching, using hand tools, and ascending or descending a ladder.

Responsibilities

Deliver exceptional customer experiences by exemplifying the T.R.E.A.T. model.
Implement and maintain impactful merchandising in alignment with company standards and strategies, including participating in company merchandising training.
Execute planograms, plan-o-guides, and visual displays.
Implement merchandise plans that account for category space needs and product adjacency.
Complete assigned tasks efficiently and participate in overall store operations and merchandising.
Work with Store Leadership on ad product placement and presentation, and conduct daily walk-throughs to address issues such as price reductions, flyers, Crazy Deals, and internet coupons.
Review merchandise reports and analysis to optimize merchandising and drive sales.
Handle company assets responsibly.
Assist with training, mentoring, and guiding associates on company merchandising practices.
Uphold safety and maintenance standards and perform cleaning and janitorial tasks as needed.
Assemble store fixtures and signage according to company standards.
Operate a cash register as needed.
Promote company-wide customer engagement campaigns.
Perform merchandising tasks including ticketing, cutting cases, lifting merchandise, hanging signage, and displaying merchandise.
Travel to stores within the assigned region as needed.
