About The Position

As a part-time, seasonal Retail Store Associate at Office Depot, you help create a positive shopping experience by engaging customers, understanding their needs, and recommending relevant products, services, and solutions. The role supports sales, customer satisfaction, store presentation, merchandising, freight and logistics, and a customer-centric environment aligned with the Office Depot 5C values: Caring, Committed, Creative, Collaborative, and Courageous.

This entry-level position includes training in technology and print products and services. Associates develop product knowledge and selling skills, including through required training and any designated certifications. The role may require consent to periodic comprehensive background checks conducted by a third party. Coworkers are expected to support a safe and healthy work environment by working safely and addressing potential hazards or concerns.

Requirements

• Basic computer skills, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, and Access.
• Ability to use technology and point-of-sale systems to access information and process transactions.
• Ability to read, write, and count accurately to complete documentation, use training tools, and process inventory.
• Good interpersonal and communication skills to build selling relationships with customers and coworkers.
• Enjoy interacting with people and working in a customer-facing environment.

Nice To Haves

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Retail sales experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Proactively acknowledge and engage customers to support a positive customer-centric experience.
• Use the selling program to recommend suitable solutions and promote additional products or services.
• Stay aware of planned advertisements, promotions, sales, and loyalty programs.
• Maintain the store and print department to company appearance guidelines, including a neat, clean, and well-stocked environment.
• Follow signage, labeling, and merchandise-presentation standards.
• Follow sorting and stocking guidelines and complete freight processes.
• Keep the freight sorting area organized and set up according to guidelines.
• Scan, investigate, and replenish inventory lows and outs daily.
• Develop personal selling skills and product knowledge using provided sales and service tools.
• Complete at least the required Tech, Print, and other applicable training, and continue education in these areas, including designated certifications if required.
• Comply with company policies, procedures, and practices and support loss-prevention efforts.
• Work safely and address potential hazards or concerns.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
