About The Position

The Seasonal Peak Associate supports essential store operations at Ocean State Job Lot, including register support, freight receiving, and product merchandising in designated areas. The role contributes to a positive customer experience and efficient store operations in a fast-paced environment during peak seasons and at new stores. Associates receive a 30% discount. Compensation is $13.00 per hour.

Requirements

• Basic math and reading skills.
• Legible handwriting.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Must be available to work weekends, including Saturday and Sunday.
• Ability to perform physical activities including using hand tools, climbing or descending ladders, moving, reaching, and lifting frequently.
• Ability to lift 35 pounds on a regular basis.

• Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

• Provide exceptional service, build friendly rapport, exemplify the T.R.E.A.T. model, and foster a welcoming environment.
• Operate a cash register, handle transactions accurately, and assist customers with product inquiries, item locations, and purchases.
• Promote company-wide customer initiatives, including donations, loyalty programs, and special offers.
• Maintain accurate displays, restock assigned areas, and meet merchandising standards.
• Unload deliveries according to company processes, organize merchandise, and prepare it for the sales floor.
• Safely set up and move fixtures as needed.
• Collaborate effectively and independently to achieve goals, and communicate opportunities for improvement to store leadership.
• Understand, support, and implement store safety protocols.
• Keep the environment neat, organized, and safe through regular cleaning and janitorial tasks.
• Perform other duties and tasks assigned by supervisors or managers.
