About The Position

The Seasonal Peak Associate role at Ocean State Job Lot is a seasonal part-time or full-time position responsible for processing and preparing receipts of merchandise, fixtures, and supplies at the assigned location. The associate also helps move, stock, and replenish merchandise on the sales floor and in receiving areas. Various shifts are needed, and associates must be available on Saturdays and Sundays. Compensation is $15.50 per hour. All associates receive a 30% discount.

Requirements

Basic math and reading skills.
Legible handwriting.
Good verbal and written communication skills.
Availability to work Saturdays and Sundays.

Nice To Haves

Prior merchandise receiving, handling, and stocking experience in retail or warehouse environments.

Responsibilities

Follow the Company’s freight management process when unloading.
Unload merchandise, fixtures, and supplies from trucks and direct them to designated areas.
Prepare merchandise for the sales floor by removing packaging, verifying price information, and ticketing items where necessary.
Process merchandise as directed and in accordance with Company procedures.
Perform ongoing recovery during shifts, including collecting trash and compacting cardboard.
Work independently and as part of a team to accomplish assigned goals.
Operate a cash register as needed.
Recover receiving areas and the sales floor before the end of each shift.
