About The Position

Nordstrom Rack is hiring seasonal team members for its Seasonal Stock department. Team members work in a fast-paced environment, collaborate to create a welcoming and inclusive atmosphere, support a quick and easy customer experience, and help keep the store clean and clutter-free. Employees may occasionally work in different areas of the store, including sales floors and stockrooms, and assist customers.

Depending on the role, duties include keeping the sales floor stocked and organized; assisting customers with transactions, fitting rooms, and merchandise; maintaining organized stockrooms; receiving and processing freight; fulfilling, packing, and shipping customer orders; and supporting store operations and events. The role requires flexibility to work different areas and schedules based on business needs, along with continuous physical activity and merchandise handling.

• Ability to handle bulky and awkwardly shaped items, including reaching and lifting items above the head.
• Ability to regularly lift items up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
• For Stock and Fulfillment roles, ability to frequently lift and carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Keep the sales floor stocked, sized, straightened, and ready for customers through re-merchandising throughout the day.
• Assist customers with in-store, online, and mobile transactions using point-of-sale systems; bag merchandise and handle bulky or heavy items.
• Greet and assist customers in fitting rooms, and sort and return clothing to the sales floor.
• Maintain a clean, clutter-free customer environment by sorting and returning clothing to the sales floor.
• Keep stockrooms organized; check in merchandise and ensure it is accurately ticketed.
• Demonstrate expertise in technologies used in the store.
• Follow operational, merchandise, and asset protection standards.
• Promote initiatives such as the Nordstrom Rewards program.
• Receive and unload freight, unpack merchandise, and deliver it to selling departments.
• Fulfill customer orders promptly while following quality standards.
• Prepare and ship customer orders according to quality, packing, and shipping standards.
• Use inventory management systems to scan, process, and research merchandise shipments in accordance with inventory control processes.
• Assist in maintaining clean and organized selling floors and stockrooms.
• Provide general store support, including setting up special events, organizing the backroom, markdowns, and relocating store fixtures.
