About The Position

Guitar Center is hiring a Retail Sr. Sales Associate to create welcoming customer experiences, help customers find instruments and gear, and contribute to store sales and operations. The role combines music product knowledge, customer relationship building, sales performance, merchandising, and support for fellow team members. As a keyholding member of the store, the associate may open and close the store as needed. The position pays $18.00–$22.50 per hour plus commission, depending on background and experience; actual compensation may vary based on experience, education, and other factors.

Requirements

• Passion for music and a solid understanding of various instruments and products.
• Proven sales track record and ability to exceed targets.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Flexibility to work additional hours if needed and to work nights and weekends as needed.

Responsibilities

• Create a welcoming environment and help customers find instruments and gear suited to their musical interests.
• Achieve and exceed sales targets; upsell and cross-sell instruments and accessories.
• Maintain expert-level knowledge of products, including guitars and recording equipment, and help improve the product knowledge of others.
• Build strong customer relationships and help fellow associates develop relationships within the local music community.
• Organize displays, restock shelves, and maintain the store.
• Guide and mentor team members, supporting them with customer interactions and operational tasks.
• Open and close the store as needed as a keyholding team member.
