About The Position

The Retail Specialist works in the Sidecar retail shop at New Holland Brewing Company’s original downtown Holland Brewpub. The position welcomes and assists guests, helps them choose merchandise, beer, and spirits, and provides a hospitality-focused experience. The role also supports reservations, takeout and delivery orders, curbside and in-store pickup, and questions about food and drink menus. This is a tipped hourly position paying $13.73 per hour plus tips. Friday, Saturday, and Sunday availability is required; the posting also states that the employee must be able to work days, nights, weekends, and holidays. The job involves maintaining the store, organizing and stocking merchandise, describing products, checking identification for age verification, and using company communication methods and technology. Retail experience is desired but not required. The employee reports to the General Manager.

Nice To Haves

Retail experience is desired but not required.
Basic math skills and ability to handle money and operate a cash register.
ServeSafe certification, or ability to complete certification within 90 days of employment.

Responsibilities

Lead and act consistently with the company’s Mission, Vision, and Values.
Welcome and warmly greet guests upon arrival and departure.
Assist customers with retail merchandise and help them make selections by offering suggestions and opinions.
Assist guests with reservations.
Describe beer, wine, and spirits accurately in terms of taste, style, and category.
Stay informed about company events and promotions.
Maintain cleanliness throughout the store and organize and maintain retail merchandise.
Check customer identification for age verification in accordance with legal standards.
Run the takeout operation and ensure to-go and delivery orders are accurate.
Bring curbside orders to guests’ vehicles or provide them directly for in-store pickup.
Make food and drink recommendations and answer questions about both menus.
Use the company’s communication methods and technology.
Assist guests with purchases, to-go orders, and online purchases; stock, fold, and clean the store.
Perform other responsibilities as assigned.
Engage with customers to provide a remarkable experience and support teammates through teamwork and communication.
