About The Position

The Retail Security Officer helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and vendors. The role calls for attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset. Duties may vary based on site needs. The officer is expected to arrive on time in full uniform, remain engaged and proactive throughout the shift, and follow safety, training, and compliance requirements.

• 3–6 months of prior experience in loss prevention, life safety, CCTV systems, or access computer systems.
• Driver's license required.
• Must arrive on time in full uniform and follow safety, training, and compliance requirements.

Nice To Haves

• Prior security or customer-facing experience.
• Familiarity with CCTV, alarms, or access control systems.

Responsibilities

• Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity.
• Control access points and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
• Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, and safety concerns.
• Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents.
• Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems.
• Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
• Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times.
• Follow post orders, company policies, and safety procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols.
• Inspect property for safety risks, including fire hazards and equipment issues.
• Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements.
• Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors professionally.
• Provide directions and support as needed.
• Maintain a visible, approachable presence on-site.
• Arrive on time in full uniform and ready to work.
• Stay engaged and proactive throughout the shift.
