Part Time Retail Security Officer
About The Position
The Retail Security Guard helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and vendors at Staten Island Mall in Staten Island, New York. The role calls for attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset. Duties may vary according to site needs. The officer is expected to be reliable and professional and to help maintain a safe environment. Work expectations include arriving on time in full uniform, staying engaged and proactive throughout the shift, and following safety, training, and compliance requirements. The position pays $20.40 per hour and is part-time.
Requirements

- New York State Security Guard license.
- New York State Driver's License.

- Familiarity with CCTV, alarms, or access control systems.
Responsibilities
- Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity.
- Control access points and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
- Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, and safety concerns.
- Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents.
- Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems.
- Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and other required documentation.
- Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times.
- Follow post orders, company policies, and safety procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols.
- Inspect the property for safety risks, including fire hazards and equipment issues.
- Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements.
- Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors professionally.
- Provide directions and support as needed.
- Maintain a visible, approachable on-site presence.
- Arrive on time in full uniform and ready to work; remain engaged and proactive throughout the shift.
- Follow safety, training, and compliance requirements.
