About The Position

The Retail Security Guard helps maintain a safe and welcoming environment for customers, employees, and vendors at Staten Island Mall in Staten Island, NY. The role calls for strong attention to detail, professionalism, and a customer-first mindset. Duties may vary based on site needs. The guard is expected to arrive on time in full uniform, stay engaged and proactive throughout the shift, and follow all safety, training, and compliance requirements.

Requirements

Strong customer service and communication skills.

Professional appearance and demeanor.
New York State Security Guard license required.
New York State driver's license required.
High level of attentiveness and situational awareness.

Nice To Haves

Prior security or customer-facing experience.
Familiarity with CCTV, alarms, or access control systems.

Responsibilities

Patrol assigned areas or maintain a fixed post to monitor activity.
Control access points and manage pedestrian and vehicle traffic.
Identify and report suspicious activity, incidents, or safety concerns.
Respond to alarms, emergencies, and on-site incidents.
Monitor CCTV cameras and security systems.
Complete daily activity logs, incident reports, and required documentation.
Maintain awareness of surroundings at all times.
Follow post orders, company policies, and safety procedures.
Maintain knowledge of emergency response protocols.
Inspect property for safety risks, including fire hazards and equipment issues.
Support loss prevention and recommend safety improvements.
Greet and assist customers, employees, and visitors professionally; provide directions and support as needed.
Maintain a visible, approachable presence on-site.
Arrive on time in full uniform and ready to work, remain engaged and proactive during the shift, and follow safety, training, and compliance requirements.
