About The Position

The Retail Seasonal Sales Associate supports the Yankee Candle retail store in Durham, North Carolina, by delivering an exceptional guest experience and driving sales growth. The role involves understanding guest needs through product knowledge, building customer relationships and loyalty, and helping maintain the store’s appearance and operating standards. The associate also supports the Store Manager and team, contributes to a positive and collaborative work environment, assists with inventory and expense control, and follows safety, loss prevention, company policies, and the Code of Ethics. The role requires working in a fragrance-filled environment and flexible hours that may include weekends and holidays.

Requirements

High school completion or equivalent GED.
Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
Ability to work in a fragrance-filled environment.
Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

Help create a welcoming store environment focused on an exceptional guest experience.
Use product knowledge to understand guest needs and make emotional connections.
Implement company selling strategies and build lasting customer relationships to maximize sales and enhance loyalty.
Promote guest loyalty through the Rewards Loyalty program and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
Maintain store appearance according to company visual standards, including plan-o-grams, visual maintenance, signage, and cleanliness.
Support the Store Manager in building a high-performing team that represents Newell Brand Values.
Foster a positive work environment through teamwork and effective communication.
Support inventory management activities and control expenses.
Apply safety and loss prevention measures in daily activities and follow company policies and the Code of Ethics.
Work toward achieving or exceeding KPI goals through planning, execution, and continuous performance improvement.
