About The Position

ScanScape is hiring part-time Retail Scan Associates to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers in Bellingham, Washington. Associates visit designated stores each week, throughout the year—including holiday weeks—to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan products, and are asked to report quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The position averages 5–10 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Special projects are frequently assigned and typically add 1–2 hours per week per store, with higher demand from January through June. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and complete display scanning and any assigned custom projects. The work offers independence and some flexibility in hours, with continuous physical activity throughout the shift.

The listed routes are grocery stores in Bellingham with workdays Wednesday or Thursday, and a convenience store in Bellingham with workdays Sunday through Thursday. The role is permanent and part-time.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for extended periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Demonstrate attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
