About The Position

The Retail Scan Associate visits an assigned selection of local retail stores each week to collect in-store product data. Using a downloadable app on a mobile phone, the associate scans product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. The role includes weekly display scanning throughout the entire store and, in many weeks, custom projects that gather more specific information about products in primary stocking locations. Scanning can take several hours, and custom projects may add 30 minutes to two hours per store. Associates must meet assigned reporting deadlines and work dependably and accurately. The position involves continuous physical activity and offers workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling. This is a permanent part-time position. Base hours average 5–6 hours per week across all stores, with additional special-project hours frequently assigned—typically 1–2 hours per week per store. Demand is higher from January through June. Work is performed weekly throughout the year, including holiday weeks. The route lists mass retail and drug stores in Greenville, Alabama, with available workdays of Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday; full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.
