About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent part-time Retail Scan Associate to visit designated local stores each week and collect in-store product data. Associates scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps, using a downloadable app on their mobile phone. They also report the quantity of about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The position covers assigned stores every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Weekly duties include completing display scans throughout the entire store and, frequently, custom projects that provide more detailed information about products in their main stocking locations. Custom projects may add 30 minutes to two hours of work per store in a given week. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and provide accurate, dependable work.

Base hours average five to six hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically one to two hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. The role offers some independence and flexibility in scheduling, with continuous physical activity throughout the workday. Paid travel is at the hourly rate, minus the first and last 15 minutes.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
