About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of local stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve sales performance for products and retailers. Associates use a downloadable mobile-phone app and are asked to report quantities for about 45% of the products scanned.

This permanent part-time role covers assigned stores each week for 52 weeks per year, including holiday weeks. Associates complete display scanning throughout the store and may also perform Custom Projects that provide more specific product details in main stocking locations. Custom Projects occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to two hours per store. Meeting weekly deadlines and providing accurate data are essential.

The position averages 6–7 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The role offers some flexibility and independence, with continuous physical activity during shifts. The route includes grocery and mass merchandise stores in Opelika, Alabama, with workdays available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to remain on one’s feet for long periods while accessing products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Deadline-driven self-starter.
• Access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Tech savvy.
