About The Position

ScanScape is hiring part-time Retail Scan Associates to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable app on their mobile phone to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They are also asked to report quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates complete weekly Display Scanning throughout the entire store, which may take several hours. Clients also request Custom Projects, which occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to two hours of work per store. Associates must meet described store deadlines. The role offers workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling, while requiring continuous physical activity during work shifts.

The permanent part-time position averages 3–5 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional work, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, is frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. Route locations include convenience stores in Jesup and Urbana, Iowa, and a grocery store in Cedar Falls, Iowa. Available workdays vary by store. Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to remain on your feet for long periods and access products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
