About The Position

The Retail Scan Associate visits a designated selection of local stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. This permanent part-time position involves weekly in-store data collection at assigned retailers throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Display scanning takes place across the entire store each week and may take several hours. Custom Projects, requested by clients for more detailed information about products in main stocking locations, occur almost every week and typically add one to two hours per store. Weekly deadlines are critical. Base hours average 6 to 13.5 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically one to two hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. The route includes grocery stores in Maryville, Tennessee, and Townsend, Tennessee, with work available Wednesday or Thursday. The role offers independence and some flexibility in scheduling, and includes continuous physical activity throughout the workday.
