About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers each week throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan barcodes and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates complete display scanning across the store each week, which may take several hours. Custom Projects, requested frequently by clients, involve collecting more specific product details in main stocking locations and may add 30 minutes to two hours of work per store in a given week. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and deliver reliable, detail-oriented work. The role averages 5–12 base hours per week across stores, depending on store size and workload; additional project hours are frequently assigned, especially from January through June. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.

The position offers independence and some flexibility in working hours, while requiring continuous physical activity during the work shift. The listed route includes stores in Northfield, Faribault, Owatonna, and West Concord, Minnesota, with available workdays varying by store.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
