About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store data at assigned local retailers each week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They also report quantities for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates complete display scanning throughout each assigned store every week, which can take several hours. Clients frequently request additional details about products in their main stocking locations through Custom Projects, which occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store. Associates must meet weekly deadlines and provide dependable, detail-oriented work while working independently.

This permanent part-time role averages 4–10 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects throughout the year, with higher demand from January through June. Routes include grocery and convenience stores in Ankeny, Iowa, with available workdays varying by store. Scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview. The role involves continuous physical activity during the workday.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Ability to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Ability to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Deadline-driven self-starter.
• Access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Tech savvy.
