About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit a designated selection of stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve sales performance for products and retailers. Associates use a downloadable app on a mobile phone to scan barcodes and provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned.

This permanent part-time role involves in-store data collection at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Weekly work includes scanning displays throughout the entire store and may also include Custom Projects that gather more specific product details in main stocking locations. These projects occur almost every week and can add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store. Associates must meet store deadlines and deliver accurate, dependable work. The position offers independence and some flexibility in scheduling, while requiring continuous physical activity during work shifts.

Base hours average 3–7 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with greater demand from January through June. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The listed route includes drug, grocery, and convenience stores in Houston, League City, and Webster, Texas, with available workdays varying by store.

Requirements

• Must be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver’s license.
• Must have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Must be able to remain on their feet for long periods and access products throughout stores.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Must be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently.
• Must be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Must have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Must be tech savvy.
