About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store product data at assigned local retailers each week throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including end caps. They also provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

The listed route includes grocery stores in Emmaus, PA, and Allentown, PA, with available workdays depending on the store. Associates must complete weekly store visits and display scans by established deadlines. Custom Projects, which request more specific product details in main stocking locations, occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to two hours of work per store in a given week. The role averages 4–9 base hours per week across all stores depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. Full scheduling details are reviewed during the interview.

The position offers workplace independence and some flexibility in hours, alongside consistent weekly work and continuous physical activity throughout the workday. Associates must be dependable, detail-oriented, self-starting, and able to meet deadlines while working independently.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old.
• Have a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle with at least the minimum state auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout a store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.

Responsibilities
