About The Position

ScanScape is hiring a permanent part-time Retail Scan Associate to collect in-store product data at assigned local retailers each week throughout the year, including holiday weeks. Associates visit designated stores and scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. For about 45% of scanned products, associates also provide quantity information. The data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance.

Associates use a downloadable app on their mobile phone to scan barcodes throughout each store. Weekly work includes display scanning across the entire store, which can take several hours, and may include Custom Projects that provide more detailed product information in main stocking locations. Custom Projects occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to two hours per store. Associates must meet store deadlines and deliver accurate data.

The role averages 4–9 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. The assigned route includes a grocery store in Linesville, Pennsylvania, available Thursday or Friday, and a grocery store in Meadville, Pennsylvania, available Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday. Scheduling details are reviewed during the interview. The job involves continuous physical activity and offers workplace independence and some flexibility in hours.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to remain on your feet for long periods while accessing products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach six feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
