About The Position

ScanScape Retail Scan Associates visit designated local stores each week to scan product barcodes on displays and in aisle locations, including aisle end caps. The collected data is analyzed to help improve product and retailer sales performance. Associates use a downloadable mobile-phone app to scan barcodes and provide quantities for about 45% of the products scanned.

Associates perform weekly in-store data collection at assigned retailers for 52 weeks per year, including holiday weeks. Work includes scanning displays throughout the store, which can take several hours, and completing Custom Projects requested by clients. Custom Projects occur almost every week and may add 30 minutes to 2 hours of work per store. Meeting weekly deadlines and providing accurate, dependable work are essential.

The permanent part-time role averages 5–12 base hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional hours, typically 1–2 hours per week per store, are frequently assigned for special projects, with higher demand from January through June. The listed route covers grocery and mass-merchandise stores in Summit, Short Hills, and Cedar Knolls, New Jersey, with available workdays of Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday. Full scheduling details will be reviewed during the interview. The role involves continuous physical activity throughout the work shift.

Requirements

• At least 18 years old and hold a valid driver’s license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and at least the minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout stores.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
