About The Position

Retail Scan Associates perform in-store data collection at assigned local retailers every week for 52 weeks a year, including holiday weeks. Store types include grocery, convenience, drug, pet, and mass merchandise stores, ranging from major national chains to small independent retailers. Associates use a downloadable app on their mobile phone to scan barcodes throughout each store and provide quantity information for about 45% of the products scanned.

Each week, associates report to their assigned stores within the specified deadline and complete Display Scanning throughout the entire store, which can take several hours. Clients also frequently request additional details about products in main stocking locations through Custom Projects. These projects occur almost every week and may add 1–2 hours of work per store in those weeks.

Base hours average 3–5 hours per week across all stores, depending on store size and workload. Additional project hours are frequently assigned throughout the year, with greater demand from January through June. The role provides workplace independence and some flexibility in scheduling, while requiring dependable, detail-oriented work and adherence to weekly deadlines. The work involves continuous physical activity during shifts.

Requirements

• Be at least 18 years old and have a valid driver's license.
• Have a reliable vehicle and minimum state-required auto insurance coverage.
• Be able to stand for long periods and access products throughout the store.
• Be able to lift up to 25 pounds, reach 6 feet in the air, and bend, stretch, stoop, and stand.
• Be able to perform repetitive movements with hands, wrists, arms, and legs for prolonged periods.
• Have attention to detail and the ability to work independently.
• Be a deadline-driven self-starter.
• Have access to reliable Wi-Fi.
• Be tech savvy.
