About The Position
The Vendor Paid Merchandise Selling Support Colleague assists customers with product selection, executes merchandise standards, and maintains selling-floor presentations for the vendor or brand they represent. As a product expert for the funding vendor, the colleague supports customer-readiness standards by delivering a memorable customer experience and maintaining a neat, clean, and organized shopping environment. The role is seasonal and full-time at Macy’s Washington Square, supporting Tailored Clothing brands Peerless, Hugo, and Brooks.
Requirements
- Exceptional customer service skills.
- Strong merchandising skills.
- Ability to effectively communicate and present information to customers, peers, and all levels of management.
- Basic math skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Ability to use a calculator.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.

- Energetic and positive attitude with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Vision and creativity.
- Flexible scheduling and availability to work retail hours, which may include day, evening, weekend, and holiday hours.
- Ability to lift at least 30 pounds; stand for at least two consecutive hours; and perform frequent moving, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and ladder climbing.
- Ability to perform tasks requiring close vision and color vision.
- Frequent use of computers and other technology as needed to perform job functions.
Responsibilities
- Make the customer the top priority.
- Use product knowledge to increase sales by educating and assisting customers with product choices.
- Help maintain and recover the selling floor, ensuring all sizes, colors, and styles are available.
- Maintain appropriate selling-floor presentation by promoting events and merchandise assortments.
- Keep fitting rooms customer-ready by promptly clearing brand-specific merchandise and returning it to the appropriate selling-floor area.
- Provide a friendly and helpful customer experience.
- Drive and exceed department goals by executing Macy’s initiatives to drive the business.
- Communicate with vendors, Customer Experience Managers, Omni Operations Managers, and Style Merchandise Managers to support sales and event promotions.
- Follow safety and security policies and procedures.
- Complete other customer-facing tasks as needed.
- Maintain regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Foster acceptance and respect to strengthen relationships and create authentic connections with colleagues, customers, and communities.
