About The Position

The Retail Sales Staff member assists customers with selecting and purchasing merchandise and maintains a clean, neat, and organized shop. The role includes building rapport with members, supporting golf staff with golfer check-in when needed, and contributing to shop operations, merchandising, events, inventory, and sales activities.

The position requires the ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays. The employee regularly stands and walks and uses their hands and arms; occasional tasks include sitting, climbing or balancing, and stooping, kneeling, or crouching. The employee frequently lifts or moves up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds. The work environment is usually quiet.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• At least six months of related experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
• Ability to meet the physical demands of the role, including frequently lifting or moving up to 25 pounds and occasionally up to 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests within 30 seconds of entering the shop and establish a connection.
• Ask open-ended questions to determine customers’ needs and show appropriate merchandise options.
• Build sales by suggesting complementary items.
• Assist golf staff with checking in golfers when needed.
• Participate in department training, vendor seminars, and sales contests.
• Use the point-of-sale system proficiently.
• Execute opening and closing procedures.
• Help recover the sales floor and follow merchandising standards to maintain a clean, neat, easy-to-shop environment.
• Participate in period-end inventories.
• Cross-train in all retail shops.
• Participate in Member Appreciation events, Live after 5 events, wine walks, Demo days, and similar events.
• Participate in the floor-fill strategy by partnering with merchant leads.
• Communicate to the manager which products need to be replenished from the warehouse.
• Build rapport with members.
