Retail Sales - Lead Associate I (Key Holder)
About The Position
Goodwill Industries of Northwest North Carolina is hiring a Lead Associate to provide store leadership when the Store Manager or Assistant to the Manager is absent. The role demonstrates the organization’s commitment to friendly customer service and teamwork in a varied, fast-paced environment, and requires integrity and resourcefulness. Duties include closing the store, reconciling cash against daily sales reports, securing the facility, preparing and maintaining operational records, and conducting inspections when needed. The role also includes cashiering and customer service, receiving and processing donations, pricing and stocking merchandise, and handling textile and clothing production tasks.
Requirements
- Lead or supervisory experience is required.
- High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
- Availability to work most store hours, especially evenings and weekends.
- Ability to occasionally lift and carry up to 50 pounds and frequently lift and carry 10 to 35 pounds when receiving donations.
Responsibilities
- Provide store leadership in the absence of the Store Manager or Assistant to the Manager.
- Close the store, reconcile cash with daily sales reports, and secure the facility for the night.
- Prepare and maintain records of store operations, including daily sales reports, cash deposits, and opening and closing reports.
- Conduct inspections when necessary.
- Operate the cash register and provide customer service.
- Receive, price, and stock donations.
- Hang, inspect, and tag textiles and clothing in a production-style setting.
