About The Position

The Retail Sales Associate interacts with and assists customers, donors, and others with merchandise selection, suggestion selling, and cashiering in a courteous and professional manner. The role supports daily store operations through customer service, transactions, merchandising, restocking, and floor maintenance. The stated pay rate is $17.13 per hour.

Requirements

High school graduation or equivalency is preferred but not required.
No experience is required.
Ability to learn new technology and software related to the job.
Ability to lift and carry up to 30 pounds.
Fine motor control, including grasping, handling, and manipulating objects with the fingers.
Ability to stand for long periods and frequently bend, kneel, reach, stoop, squat, push, and climb ladders.
Ability to travel across a variety of surfaces, including stairs, ramps, and uneven terrain.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing, including with people who have limited English skills.
Reliable attendance.
Ability to organize, sort, categorize, count, add, subtract, interpret data, solve problems, communicate with the public, and use verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

Proactively acknowledge, greet, and help customers in any area of the store.
Assist customers and donors in a timely, courteous manner by answering questions or directing them to a supervisor.
Handle cash, checks, and credit card transactions; close out the cash drawer and balance point-of-sale transactions.
Communicate through standard telephone and wireless audio systems.
Merchandise and restock products and provide general floor maintenance where needed.
Maintain a clean work environment.
Support team members and assist supervisors and leads when necessary.
Build and maintain internal and external customer satisfaction.
Contribute to team effort by accomplishing related results as needed.
Demonstrate safe work practices through awareness and observation, and report potential hazards or accidents.
Perform other duties as assigned.
