Retail Sales Associate, River Oaks Center - Part Time
About The Position
As a Retail Selling Colleague, you combine results-focused selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, provide personalized recommendations, and connect them with appropriate products and services. Through customer engagement, product knowledge, and smart selling behaviors, you work toward sales goals and build customer trust and loyalty. You also help keep the shopping space clean, organized, and inviting. Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals, top-selling products, trends, and promotions, and ensuring the sales floor is ready for customers. They welcome customers and build relationships, maintain the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. They share loyalty program benefits, make sure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Teamwork, continuous improvement, and delivering individual and store results are central to the role. This is a part-time position at Macy’s River Oaks Center. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week, depending on business needs and availability. Schedules include weekend shifts.
Requirements
- Flexible availability for days, evenings, weekends, and holidays, with regular, dependable attendance and punctuality.
- Ability to understand and communicate effectively with customers, coworkers, and supervisors.
- Ability to read and understand employment policies and safety rules and procedures in English.
- Comfort communicating and collaborating with customers and colleagues.
- Ability to meet daily sales goal challenges.
- Enjoyment of meeting people, learning about them, and sharing information.

- Ability to talk, lift, move constantly, stand, and reach with arms and hands.
- Ability to stand for at least two consecutive hours and lift at least 25 pounds.
- Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch, climb ladders, and reach, including above eye level.
- Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
- Ability to frequently use computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and a cash register, and process register transactions.
