About The Position

As a Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-focused selling with genuine hospitality to create standout shopping experiences. You learn about customers’ needs, offer personalized recommendations, connect them with appropriate products and services, and build trust and loyalty while working toward sales goals. The role involves engaging customers on the sales floor and in fitting rooms and maintaining a clean, organized, inviting, and shoppable space. Colleagues review sales goals, learn about new arrivals, top-selling items, trends, and promotions, and use that knowledge to engage and educate customers. Throughout the day, they recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and support merchandise moves. They also share loyalty program benefits and provide a courteous, personal checkout and farewell. Teamwork, adaptability, dependable attendance, and a commitment to learning and improving are important to delivering individual and store results. Part-time colleagues are typically scheduled 12–24 hours per week. Schedules include weekend shifts; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The position requires frequent use of computers and other technology, including handheld equipment and cash registers, as well as standing, moving, reaching, lifting, and other physical activities.
