About The Position

As a Retail Selling Colleague at Macy’s, you combine results-driven selling with genuine hospitality to create memorable customer experiences. You learn what customers need, offer personalized recommendations, and connect them with appropriate products and services. You work toward sales goals through customer engagement and smart selling behaviors, building trust and encouraging loyalty. The role includes more than cashiering: you help maintain a clean, organized, inviting shopping space and support customers on the sales floor and in fitting rooms. Colleagues prepare for the day by reviewing sales goals, learning about new arrivals and top sellers, and staying informed about trends and promotions. During the day, they welcome customers, build friendly relationships, recover the sales floor and fitting rooms, update signs and pricing, and assist with merchandise moves. They share Loyalty program benefits, ensure customers have what they need, and close interactions with a sincere thank-you. Teamwork, ongoing learning, and efforts to achieve individual and store results are central to the role. The position requires flexible availability, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Schedules include weekend shifts; hours depend on business needs and colleague availability. The posting identifies this position as seasonal. Full-time colleagues are typically scheduled for 30 or more hours per week, while part-time colleagues are typically scheduled for 12–24 hours per week.
