About The Position
EZCORP is hiring a Retail Sales Associate, also described as a Retail Customer Service Representative (Pawnbroker), for its EZPawn location in San Antonio, Texas. The role offers daily interaction with customers, helping them with retail sales and reaching mutually satisfying agreements regarding pawn items such as jewelry, electronics, and musical instruments. Team members are expected to provide a friendly, courteous, and respectful customer environment and support store operations. The company describes a structured career path, beginning with a five-week paid training program. Completing the program brings a $0.50-per-hour raise and promotion to Pawnbroker. Employees may continue into a Pawnbroker Certification Program for an additional $1 per hour, pursue Lead Pawnbroker (Shift Manager) opportunities, and apply for a Store Manager in Training role that includes a 12-week training program. Pay is based on experience, with stated hourly pay of $12.50–$15.00 and monthly uncapped bonus potential.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Customer service, cashier, or retail experience.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Ability to multitask.
- Self-motivation, a positive and outgoing personality, and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to pass a criminal background check and drug test.
Nice To Haves
- Knowledge of commonly pawned items such as tools, jewelry, firearms, or electronics.
- Sales background.
- Bilingual ability.
Responsibilities
- Greet customers and interact with them in person and by phone.
- Provide excellent customer service and build customer relationships.
- Help customers with sales and mutually satisfying agreements involving pawn items.
- Process sales, loans, and extensions.
- Perform store opening and closing duties.
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulations.
